The Team
The Technical team includes the Technical Director (UK), Senior Production Manager, 3 Production Managers, a Deputy Production Manager, Technical Administrator, Technical Coordinator, Assistant to the Technical Director (UK) and a Technical Production Assistant (fixed term). The team are responsible for the realisation and smooth running of the physical productions and work with the designers to produce and look after the set, lighting, sound, wardrobe, and wigs. They are also responsible for hiring, managing and the welfare of all show technical staff.

Areas of Responsibility
Production Administration
-Support the Production Manager with the running of the London Productions from an administrative position.
-Working closely with the relevant Associate Producer and Production Administrator on any areas that overlap between the production and technical departments.
-Liaise and work closely with the Company Manager and Production Manager on the day to day running of the show including any issues that may arise, either with technical elements of the production or staffing.
-Attending the weekly meetings with the Production Manager, Company Manager, Associate Producer and Production Administrator and update as necessary.
-Act as a liaison between external freelance staff and the Production.
-In conjunction with the Production Manager, act as a liaison between the Costume and Wigs Supervisor and the Associate Producers in regard to the cast.
-Liaise with the Production Administrators to keep the Technical Department up to date regarding cast changes and educational performances etc.
-In conjunction with the Production Manager and Deputy Production Manager book rehearsal spaces for cast changes
-Booking Associates as needed for cast changes, put ins, notes etc.
-Attending key performances and events.
-Assisting the Production Manager with the timely and effective communication of technical information
-Organise in conjunction with the Production Manager the technical staffing of one-off events e.g. West End Live.
-Liaising with Heads of Departments and external suppliers regarding show requirements.
-In conjunction with the Production Manager, liaising with contractors and Designers and Associates re maintenance of set I.e. paint calls, prop refurbishment etc.
-Monitoring all show reports and rehearsal notes.
-Booking any travel and accommodation as required.
-Arranging shipments and import and export paperwork as needed.
-Minuting meetings as required.
-Administrating schedules across London shows including maintenance, cast changes etc in liaison with the Deputy Production Manager.
Production Finance
-Signing off invoices in conjunction with the Production Manager.
-Drafting and managing running budgets in conjunction with the Production Manager and Associate Producers. Implementing the running and expenditure of the budgets and ensuring that productions are operating effectively within these financial constraints. This includes presentation of budgets for approval prior to committing funds.
-Keeping track of when rental deals are up for renewal and keeping the Production Manager and Associate Producers informed.
-Reviewing weekly payroll, alongside the Production Administrators.
Production Health and Safety
-To assist in ensuring that all production work is undertaken in line with the latest applicable H&S legislation, ensuring training and certification is undertaken as required. Utilising support from our external H&S consultants.
-To be aware of changing Health and Safety and other key laws and legislation, and ensure it is adhered to across all the London shows.
-Arranging Health and Safety training for London show staff.
-Arranging Production Health and Safety Meetings and Production Audits for London Productions.
-Arranging and booking in annual and six-monthly inspections e.g. with Unusual Rigging and Direct Access Services for London Productions
Production Staffing and HR
-Providing pastoral care and managing day to day issues on running London productions. Leading on supporting the Production Manager and Company Manager in managing HR issues.
-Assisting the Production Manager with show staffing, including interviewing as required.
-Issuing show contracts (in line with the relevant Union agreements), starter forms and policies to new starters.
-Issuing maternity letters to technical show staff and advising of maternity entitlement in line with Union agreements.
-Monitor developments in union agreements.
-Keeping and updating HR files for technical show staff in conjunction with the Company Manager. Setting up inductions with the Company Manager and HOD’s as appropriate.

Administration
-Minuting the fortnightly Technical, Production and Casting meetings.
-Booking meetings and rooms as required.
-In conjunction with the Production Manager, compiling interview kits for technical production staff.
-Arranging the Technical Production Office annual Health and Safety audit.
-Updating the World Staffing Breakdown with new show information in liaison with the Production Managers.

Finance and Accounts
-Arranging the coding and payment of show related invoices and answering invoice queries.
-Issuing Purchase Orders as required by the Production Managers.

-Reconciling petty cash floats.
-Supporting the Production Managers in completing credit card returns.
Contracts
-Conducting self-employment CEST checks for Freelancers and Associates working on a Production.
-Keeping track of the return of Freelance Agreements.
General
-Providing cover for the Technical Coordinator and Technical Administrator as needed.
-Any other duties as required.
HR Manager
£55K- £60K a year depending on experience
Permanent, Full time, with flexibility for hybrid working subject to a minimum of 3 days a week in the office.
Cameron Mackintosh Ltd are looking for an experienced HR Manager to join the Company based in the heart of London’s West End.
This is a new management position, and the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and consistent implementation of all aspects of our human resources function across all departments.
The HR Manager will work closely with all line managers, in addition to external training and recruitment companies where required.

Responsibilities
-Working alongside and closely supporting line managers. Lead, develop, implement systems and oversee all aspects of our human resources function across recruitment, induction, training, performance review and contracts.
-Provide general HR advice and counsel to line managers within the context of our company ethos, referring to CML’s employment lawyers occasionally where legal advice is required.
-To implement and manage the recruitment and selection process for all CML departments through until contracting stage. Championing equality, diversity, inclusion and wellbeing.
